STUDENT MATERIALS LIST for LANDSCAPE CLASS

*One sketch pad

*Markers or pencils

* 10- 12 full sheets of water color paper. I use Arches Coldpress 140 lb. (Students may work any size they are comfortable with)

*The usual watercolor supplies: Palette, paint, brushes, water container, paint board with clamps, paper towels, etc.

NOTE: In addition to the usual brushes a 1 1/2" or 2" flat brush is recommended. I presently use a Robert Simmons Sky Flow flat brush, although other brands are satisfactory.

WATERCOLORS

Students often ask what colors Don uses on his palette, so we are providing you with a list of what he's using now. (His colors are often changing and he does enjoy experimenting with some of the new colors coming out.) Also, he doesn't expect you to use the same colors; however he does emphasize that you should have 2 light, 2 medium, and 2 dark of all the primary colors. Most professional brands are interchangeable and include Holbein, Windsor Newton,
Daniel Smith, and American Journey .

Most of the paint Don is now using is from the American Journey series sold by
Cheap Joe's Art Stuff catalog. (Phone: 1-800-227-2788 ) These paints are equivalent to other brands in quality and come in a large 37 ml tube (1.25 Fl.Oz.)
