My husband gave me your DVD series Watercolor Workshop as a Christmas gift and I just had to tell you how wonderful I think it is. I am a beginning painter and have a number of "how to books" and have taken a few workshops but your DVD series is fantastic. The instructions are clear, repeat enough to reinforce (and not just wordy chit chat) the point and I love the fact we get to see the ENTIRE painting develop not just fast forward to the finished product with pieces missing.

Thank you! I know I will get so much information as well as pleasure from the series and it has given me courage to try and explore new possibilities. You make it look easy but most important of all you you make it look like fun and not a life and death event like brain surgery. You have encouraged me to break rules! I hope someday to be able to take one of your workshops in person.

I have really enjoyed watching (and gaining some great tips from) DVDs. You truly are an inspiring artist!

I must say that your book and the DVDs are worth their weight in gold.  Thanks for sharing so much of your considerable experience.  I could also see that you have been given tremendous talent not only for painting, but also for teaching.  Thanks.

I think "Interpreting the Landscape in Watercolor" is a great book.  The principles can be applied to any painting or location.  It is written very concisely and easy to understand with examples of what you are describing.  Now I love the book and am sure it will improve all of my painting if I use those principles you described.  I also love the way you use color and mix it on the paper.  I also have your video and Figure painting book and hope I can take a workshop from you sometime.

Of the many art books I own, your two are among the best.   My first quick thru tells me that they are just what I wanted and that I will indeed enjoy them.

I am new to painting, just over a year into watercolor where I've jammed in classes and as much painting as time permits.  I live in an area ... where illustrative realism is paramount and wanted more freedom and then I saw the glowing review of your book "Interpreting the Landscape in Watercolor" on the back of
Palette Magazine.

This is, by far, the best book yet on watercolor -- simple, direct, beautifully presented and chock full of the information I've been searching for.  I so totally love your style, and I am so excited to find my own style with guidance provided in this book. Thank you for taking the time to do this book and share with us your perspective and your knowledge.

I just ordered your new book and just wanted to drop a note. I purchased your other two books and the video "Making Watercolor Glow" and have found them invaluable and inspiring. I look forward to finding similar wisdom in your new book. I'm afraid I've used, read and re-read your first book on figures to the point that I might need to order a new copy. I wonder if you have any plans for another video on the figure? Especially in light of some of your ideas of painting with negative space. Regardless, this is an unabashed fan letter.
